Noida: Road littered with plastic, weekly market fined

NOIDA: The Noida Authority on Monday levied a fine of Rs 50, 000 on R N Sarkar, the president of weekly market association for littering plastic and other waste on MP-2 road near Sector 25.

“We had been getting many complaints every Tuesday, when the weekly market with vegetable and other utilities shops takes place. On inspection, we found the complaint to be true and hence, we levied a fine of Rs 50, 000 on the president of the weekly market association,” said S K Gupta, deputy general manager, public health department, Noida Authority.


Gupta also undertook a tour of other areas in the city and found gross negligence on garbage disposal and road cleanliness in different areas. Two companies, Chennai MSW and Exman Raghav Security Services, were also fined with Rs 10,000 each. While Chennai MSW was fined for dumping garbage on a service road near Sector 14 A, Exman Raghav Security Services was fined for lack of sanitation work at Sector 6.


“On a visit to Noida’s entry point near Sector 14 A under the flyover, I found gross negligence on part of Chennai MSW Pvt Ltd, the company hired for picking up the garbage and cleaning of the road. Garbage was found on the service road as well as the footpath and it seemed that it had not been picked up for many days. Hence, a fine of Rs 10, 000 was levied on the company,” he said .


“Also, Exman Raghav Security Services was fined for lack of sanitation and sweeping in areas like Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra and near SP city’s office,” added Gupta.
