Thane: 18-year-old motorist tries to run over 3 cops

(Representative image)THANE: An 18-year-old motorist has been arrested for injuring an on-duty traffic constable and trying to drive into two other cops before speeding away. The Naupada police said that they chased the driver and stopped his car. The accused has been identified as Aditya Phad, who is the son of a former government pleader.
Constable Ajit Khairmode spotted Phad's car sporting a dark film after he jumped a signal. "I stopped his car and demanded to see his licence. But he started dropping names and fled while injuring me," said Khairmode. Phad then sped away and almost knocked down two other cops, before being arrested.
