D-Street Buzz: Nifty Energy underperforms despite IOC jumping 3%; UltraTech Cement falls 3%

The breadth of the market favoured the declines with 304 stocks advancing and 1396 declining while 371 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 565 stocks advanced, 1857 declined and 129 remained unchanged.

There is no stopping the bears as the Indian benchmark indices are trading 1.7 percent in the red this Monday afternoon with the Nifty50 down 187 points, trading at 10,500 while the Sensex plunged 627 points and is trading at 35,050.

Nifty Energy and Nifty Realty continues to hammer the most, down over 2 percent dragged by Reliance Industries which fell 3.5 percent followed by GAIL India and ONGC.

Realty stocks are also down dragged by Indiabulls Real Estate, Godrej Properties, DLF, Unitech, Sobha, Oberoi Realty and Prestige Estates.

From the pharma space, the top losers are Sun Pharma, Aurobindo Pharma, Cadila Healthcare, Lupin, Piramal Enterprises and Divis Labs.

The top gainer from NSE include IOC, HPCL, Eicher Motors, Maruti Suzuki and YES Bank while the top losers included Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, Indiabulls Housing Finance, UltraTech Cement and Bajaj Finance.

The most active stocks were Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma and YES Bank.

Linde India, Muthoot Finance and Tube Investments are three of the only four stocks to have hit new 52-week high.

238 stocks have hit new 52-week low including names like Aban Offshore, Amara Raja Batteries, Amtek Auto, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Corp, Balkrishna Industries, Cipla, Coal India, Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochemicals, Dish TV, IL&FS Transportation Networks, Inox Wind, Jindal Steel & Power, Jain Irrigation Systems, Mcleod Russel India, NBCC, ONGC, Punj Lloyd, Reliance Capital, Sun Pharma Advanced Research, Tata Global Beverages, Texmaco Rail, Vedanta and Tata Motors among others.
