Eskom and Sanral are trying to take us for fools

10 December 2018, 09:18

Take Eskom, for instance. As soon as they want to get large tariff increases, they implement so-called 'load-shedding'. The reason, they say: 'A shortage of coal'.

Yet several reputable articles recently say there is no shortage of coal. There are many mines around Eskom power stations that have plenty of coal.

It's the same trick - a la Enron - that Eskom pulled in previous years when they wanted to massively increase electricity charges. They are trying to take us for suckers yet again.

Then take SANRAL, or their lapdog, the ETC. They are allowing toll booths to 'run out of power'.

Just look at the totally ridiculous reason. I quote their exact words:

"The intention is not for (the back up power units) to be operated in the manner that they are being operated, however. Load shedding puts a lot of strain on the components that are being tested on a constant basis," Dhoogra added.

This leads to failures during load shedding because the back-up systems are used for an extensive period of time, according to the operations manager.

"We then have to go into what we call a manual mode scenario where we have to process the traffic by manually recording the transaction details. That requires a little bit more patience from our motorists," she explained.

Yeah, right!

This is absolute, complete BS. All they need is fuel for generators - which can run day in, day out, no problem. But by massively slowing down traffic, they are attempting to force people to buy their e-tags.

Do you see the similarity of operation from our crooked SOE's?

No, Eskom and SANRAL, we are not stupid. And we won't be taken for suckers by your Machiavellian tactics.

We WILL continue to invest in PV power. And we WON'T buy e-tags to fund an enterprise that was criminal from the start.

You don't fool us.
