PATIALA: The city police have booked a man for sexually harassing a woman and hurting her modesty. A case in this regard has been registered on the complaint of the victim.
The police said that the complainant was a married woman and lived in a village of Patiala. "In her statement, the woman told us that the accused, a resident of Kansuha Khurd village, used to take rounds in her village and stalked her. The accused also became friends with the neighbours of the woman and started visiting there often," the cops said.
It has been learned that a few days ago, the accused made some wrong gestures, however, the complainant said she ignored him. The complainant did not warn him. This boosted his morale and he continued to do the same whenever he got a chance. Finally, she gathered courage to warn him of his actions. The victim also revealed the same to her family members.
"If the woman had reached us on time, we could have nabbed the accused. As of now, we have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and have formed police teams to nab the accused," said the investigation officer of the case.
"We have conducted raids in the villaged of the accused, however, he has managed to escape," the cop said.
