Four persons, including a Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) employee, have been arrested for allegedly forging documents to illegally grab land worth ₹4 crore.

The racket was discovered when the complainant, Pramila Choudary, found that a 3,150-square feet property in the name of her deceased mother, Rathna, at Banashankari 2nd stage, worth around ₹4 crore, was being sold without consent of the family.

Based on her complaint, Banashankari police found that one of the accused, Venkataswami, 70, a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout, had forged a GPA (General Power of Attorney) and had prepared sale deed documents in the names of Inayutulla Sharif, 51, who is part of the conspiracy.

Police found that Sadiq, 53, a real-estate middleman, had colluded with Mariappa, 43, a Group D employee in the BDA to get copies of the land documents, confirmed that Rathna had passed away, and then prepared a fake GPA.
