Moneylender held for harassing customers

BENGALURU: Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials on Saturday arrested a 54-year-old man for allegedly lending money at exorbitant interest rates and taking over assets of borrowers illegally.
The arrested is Krishnappa alias Anekal Krishnappa, a resident of Girija Shankar Layout in Anekal taluk. Police said he used to take signatures of borrowers on blank stamp papers and later register assets in his name. Recently, the police helpline got calls about his business . “We’ve seized blank stamp papers. He runs an organisation and we are checking its credentials,” DCP (crime) S Girish said.
