KMRL to aid e-mobility, MTA ventures

State-level workshop tomorrow

The KMRL will be a technical partner of the State-level stakeholder and consultation workshop on “e-Mobility and Kerala Metropolitan Transportation Authority (KMTA)”, that will be held on December 10 at Mascot Hotel, Thiruvananthapuram.

The workshop is being hosted by the government of Kerala and is aimed at seeking feedback from experts and stakeholders on the recently published draft Electric Mobility Policy and on implementation of KMTA. The metro agency will extend support to the State’s e-Mobility initiatives and also KMTA, says a press release.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the workshop in the presence of E.P. Jayarajan, Minister for Industries; G. Sudhakaran, Minister for PWD, and M.M. Mani, Minister for Power.

There will be sessions on e-mobility as the future of transportation in Kerala, Building a Battery Charging Eco System and Manufacturing, Innovation, Transition of Intermediate Public Transport and Water Transport to Electric Fuel, and Financing the Implementation of EV (electric vehicle) Policy.
