A two-year-old boy Arif Khalkho died on Sunday after gulping naphthalene balls placed in the wardrobes to preserve clothes in good condition.
The incident took place on Wednesday at Bhavani Nagar in Mallapur and soon the boy was rushed to a private hospital in the area, from where he was taken to Gandhi Hospital. The boy died while undergoing treatment in the wee hours of Sunday.
The boy’s father Ijuies Khalkho migrated to the city from Odisha for livelihood with his family, police said.
