Sudin: govt aiming at providing better roads to public in state

PONDA: PWD Minister Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar inaugurated a part of the Kashimath underpass on Sunday evening. Along with him South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, MP Vinay Tendulkar, chief secretary Dharmendra Sharma, sarpanch and panch members from Marcaim constituency and others were present for the programme.

The upgradation of Dhavali bypass project worth Rs 72 cr was started in April 2015 and the entire project is yet to be completed. Work on the four kilometre project includes upgradation of the road to four lanes from the earlier two lanes, construction of underpass at Kashimath junction and Kapileshwari Junction, provision of service roads, improvement of junctions, traffic safety aids and illumination. According to PWD sources the entire project will be ready by March 2019, but considering the needs of the public only a part it has been inaugurated and after few days it will be opened to public.

Addressing the gathering at the Kashimath underpass, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar expressed happiness over the completion of various road expansion projects in the state including the Dhavali bypass road. “Providing better roads to the public is a dream of the central as well as the state governments and we are happy that after working hard in the past few years, our dreams are becoming a reality,” said PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar.

Commenting on the rising criticism about the chief minister and other minister’s health, Dhavalikar said that, health issues of the ministers have not affected the development work in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Narendra Sawaikar appreciated the work done by the PWD Minister for taking up various road extensions and upgradation projects in the state with the help of the central government. Sawaikar said that with the help of the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, infrastructure projects worth Rs 15,000 cr is going on in the state.
