Mumbai: 2 killed in wall collapse at Tardeo

MUMBAI: Two people including a contractual junior engineer died while one was injured in a wall collapse incident at Tardeo on Saturday afternoon.
Around 12 noon the wall at a construction site near the Tardeo RTO office crashed. Three were injured initially and rushed to Nair hospital in Mumbai Central. Among the three two people were declared dead on arrival while one was treated and discharged. The two deceased have been identified as Faiz Khan, 24 and Tapan Das, 28 while the person who was treated and discharged was Jaydeo Roy,28.
Sanjay Surve, senior inpsector of Tardeo police said, "The ground had been dug up for laying of basement pillars meanwhile the soil loosened up because of which the wall crashed on the three standing at the location. At present we have registered at Accidental Death Report (ADR) and sought a site inspection report on the incident based on which further action will be decided."
