Australia v India Live: India with small innings lead, Aussies make 235

Important second dig for Shaun Marsh

Obviously Shaun Marsh needs runs when he bats again in this test but his second innings record is not good. None of his 100s have come in the second innings (he was run out for 99 in 2014). In 27 second innings, Marsh has made 15 scores under 10, with six of those second innings ending quickly as ducks.

Lunch being taken, 1:52pm Adelaide time resumption

Second session to kick off at 1:52 after rain saw lunch being taken early. To recap Mitch Starc 15, Travis Head 72 and Josh Hazlewood 0 the batsmen out in the first session, all out caught behind. Nathan Lyon made a swashbuckling 24 (if two 4s and a 6 counts as swashbuckling!) to get the Aussies to 235, 15 behind India.

Pant equals MS Dhoni for most catches by an Indian wicketkeeper

Six catches behind the stumps by Rishabh Pant means he equals MS Dhoni's record of most catches by an Indian keeper in a test innings. Dhoni set the mark in 2009. Fair effort from Pant.

Game evenly poised

Well, almost back to square one with India batting again with a 15 run lead. Nathan Lyon batted well for 24 but was left stranded. Surely India's batsmen put their head down now and don't wave at balls outside off stump as they did in the first innings. Great position for test match to be in however.

Hazlewood OUT first ball, Australia all out, India lead by 15 runs

Mohammed Shami will be on a hatrick after dismissing Josh Hazlewood first ball. Rishabh Pant took six catches behind the stumps. Australia trail by 15 runs on first innings.

Head OUT!

Travis Head gets out on 72, equal to his highest test score, with an edge behind to, you guessed it, Rishabh Pant. Good knock, but will feel as though he has left a hundred out there.

Lyon hits a 6

Nathan Lyon has gone beserk hooking a Mohammed Shami short ball for SIX!! Batting well.

Ashwin on as Australia closes in on India's total

Australia has risen from the dead here, having put on 98 runs for two wickets after being 6-127. Lyon playing an industrious innings moving to 15.

Rishabh Pant ready behind stumps

Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has taken four catches this innings. Take two more and he will equal M.S.Dhoni's Indian record of six catches in an innings, which he took against New Zealand in 2009.

Nice Garry...

Nathan Lyon off the mark with a beautiful drive through cover for three. Much better light this time around...
