Was depressed after wife became partially paralysed, says killer dad
Dec 9, 2018, 00:07 ISTCoimbatore: A 45-year-old man, who was arrested on Friday for murdering his two daughters, told police that he had become frustrated with life after his wife became partially paralysed, unable to take care of his daughters. “Padmanaban of Masakkalipalayam told us that he became addicted to alcohol to beat depression. After killing his daughters using a dupatta, he was planning to commit suicide, but changed his mind in the last moment,” a police officer said.
On Friday, Padmanaban had allegedly strangled eight-year-old P Srija, a class III student, and her sister 15-year-old P Hemavarshini, a class X student at his house. He escaped from the place on a motorcycle. Police arrested him after going through CCTV footages. He was lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison on Saturday evening. TNN
