The body of a surrendered ultra of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party bearing a number of bullet wounds was found Saturday near Cheiraoching in Imphal West district of Manipur, police said.
Seven bullets had been pumped into the body of the 44-year-old surrendered ultra, six of them on his back, a senior police officer said.
The body was found by people who had gone out for morning walk. They had alerted the police, he said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing, he added.
