Constitution will prevail: BJP

KOZHIKODE: The BJP will initiate legal proceedings against those, including police officers, responsible for the violations of law to frame party state general secretary K Surendran.
Addressing reporters at his residence here, BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai said the court verdict granting bail to Surendran proved that the Constitution, and not Stalinist rule, would prevail.
Pillai said the LDF government had thought that they could hound and subdue Surendran by charging false cases on him.
"The police had even imposed sections of attempt to murder on Surendran even without preliminary evidence.
From the moment he was arrested, there have been numerous law violations committed by the police and the government, and we will continue legal actions against all those responsible," Pillai added. He added that party workers will accord receptions to Surendran across the state.
