Man allegedly stabbed to death in Warrnambool
A man has died after he was allegedly stabbed in a western Victorian town on Friday night.
The man, aged in his forties, was taken to hospital after emergency services found him at a unit in Cramer Street, Warrnambool, with life-threatening injuries about 8:30pm.
He was taken to hospital and later died. Police arrested a 51-year-old Warnambool man over the incident on Saturday morning.
The Warrnambool Standard reported that the man was allegedly stabbed in the torso and that police have recovered a knife.
The 51-year-old man in police custody is reportedly a disability pensioner and went home after the alleged stabbing.
The critical incident response police were involved in a stand off with the man and he was arrested after negotiations.
Homicide squad detectives are investigating.
