Six-year-old victim’s mother caught him in the act

A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her 70-year-old neighbour in Roz Ka Meo police station area on Wednesday, the police said on Friday. The accused has been arrested and remanded to 14 days judicial custody.

The accused raped the girl when her parents had gone to visit an ailing relative at a hospital in Faridabad.

After the couple returned around 6 p.m., the mother could not find the girl and called out her name several times.

“I could hear her voice coming from a nearby room where the accused stayed. I knocked at the door but it was shut from inside. When I pushed it open, I found him raping my daughter,” the mother said in the FIR.

On seeing the woman, the accused ran out of the room issuing threats to her, the FIR read.

A case has been registered on charges of house trespass and criminal intimidation of the Indian Penal Code and penetrative sexual assault of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

The case was registered on Wednesday evening after the medical examination of the girl confirmed rape.

‘Would often lure her’

Station House Officer of Roz Ka Meo police station Inspector Sanjay Kumar said the accused would often lure the girl to his room offering her goodies. He, however, ruled out rape on the earlier occasions.

The accused was arrested on Thursday and produced before the court later in the day. He has been remanded to 14 days judicial custody, said Mr. Kumar. The victim is one of six siblings.
