Alpesh Kathiriya to be released from jail today
tnn | Dec 9, 2018, 04:00 ISTSurat: Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) will take out a rally in the city on Sunday to celebrate the release of Alpesh Kathiriya, who is convener of its Surat unit. Hardik Patel, PAAS convener, will also take part in the rally. PAAS had sought permission to take out the rally from Lajpore Central Jail (LCJ), but it was refused by the police.
The rally has been permitted from Udhna Darwaja up to Patidar dominated Varachha and Simada areas. Kathiriya, who was arrested recently in a sedition case, is lodged in LCJ. He was granted bail by a local court earlier this week. Kathiriya was also arrested for his alleged involvement in an attempt to murder case.
He was granted bail in this case on Thursday by the court.
Kathiriya is expected to be released in the morning once he completes all the legal formalities.
