The Indian benchmark indices are trading on a positive note this Friday morning with the Nifty50 up 32 points, trading at 10,633 while the Sensex gained 157 points and is trading at 35,469.
Nifty Media is the outperforming sector led by gains from Zee Entertainment which jumped 3 percent followed by EROS International Media and DB Corp.
Pharma stocks are also buzzing led by Cipla, Dr Reddy's Labs, Glenmark Pharma and Piramal Enterprises.
From the banking space, the top gainers are ICICI Bank which added 1 percent followed by Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
From the IT space, HCL Tech tanked over 6 percent after news of the company going to buy some of IBM software products. IBM and HCL Technologies announced a definitive agreement under which HCL will acquire select IBM software products for USD 1.8 billion, company said in release.
The other losers included Wipro, KPIT Tech, Mindtree and Tata Elxsi.
From the BSE midcap space, the top gainers are Muthoot Finance which jumped 6 percent followed by Edelweiss Financial and Colgate Palmolive while the top losers are NBCC and SAIL.
The top smallcap gainers are Premier Explosives which spiked 13 percent followed by DFM Foods while the top losers are Navkar Corp and 8K Miles Software.
The top gainers from NSE include Zee Entertainment, Cipla, Dr Reddy's Labs, Asian Paints and Grasim Industries.
The top losers included HCL Tech, GAIL India, Wipro, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Wipro.
The most active stocks were HCL Tech, Sun Pharma, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Axis Bank and YES Bank.
Sakuma Exports and Tube Investments are two of the three stocks to have hit new 52-week high.

The breadth of the market favoured the advances with 907 stocks advancing and 654 declining while 493 remained unchanged. On the BSE, 987 stocks advanced, 772 declined and 98 remained unchanged.
