She was threatened of dire consequences by him if she ever told anyone about her sexual exploitation. The girl, who is daughter of an autorickshaw driver, developed some health complications and the issue of her sexual exploitation came to her sister-in-law’s notice. A complaint of rape was registered against the 35-year-old accused at Amroli police station on Thursday.
Police said the girl used to go to Ranjit’s house to do some rudimentary embroidery work on saris. Six months ago when there was no one at home, Ranjit raped her and then repeated his crime four more times. Recently, the girl experienced stomach ache and told her sister-in-law how was she being sexually exploited by the accused.
“We talked to the girl and her family members. And then booked Ranjit for rape,” a police officer said, adding that the rape survivor has been sent for medical examination.
The accused has been booked under sections of Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. He will be arrested soon.
