The revelation comes after an agreement between Basketball Australia and the Australian Basketballers' Association to improve conditions for national team members.
Bogut described the agreement was much needed as a 'great deal for both parties'.
'As time went on from the early 2000s when I started [in the national team] it was always "next year, next year" and "she'll be right mate, she'll be right mate" attitude with certain things,' Bogut said.
'We were doing our own washing when I first joined the national team. We were washing our jerseys in a bathtub with soap so we've come a long way.'
The new National Teams Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) was signed on Thursday and guarantees improved working conditions for team members.
Key features of the CBA include a new revenue model which will see players receive a 25 per cent share from key events and a carer on the road for children up to 4-years-old.
