Eskom will implement 13 hours of stage 1 load shedding on Friday between 09:00 and 22:00.
Stage 1 allows for up to 1000 megawatts to be cut from the national grid.
This is the first time this week that the power utility has not had to implement stage 2 load shedding.
"Some units have been brought back to service, helping reduce the depth of load shedding from stage 2 that has been implemented since the beginning of this week," tweeted the utility's spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe.
