Cultural programmes and food festival were organized at WALMI under Kashmiri youth exchange programme ‘Watan ko jano’. The six-day event has been organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra in association with Ministry of Home Affairs.

Kashmiri youths participated enthusiastically in the food festival, handicraft market and cultural performances on the fifth day of Vatan Ko Jano at Water and Land Management Institute premises.

The performances started with a dancer from Srinagar who recited compositions of Habba Khatoon and a Kashmiri folk dance called Vachkut. MP’s Oshi group sang Chalte Chalte Yun Hi Mil Gaya, the Sanghmitra group performed a Chhattisgarhi dance on Mahua Jhare and a semi-classical dance performance was given by Ayushi Trivedi.
