It turns out the taxi driver who picked me up last evening is a mechanical engineering student who has four more exams to clear. Instead of sitting idle at home and getting scolded by his parents every day, he decided to earn some money by driving taxis until he finishes his remaining exams and graduates next semester.

He apparently hadn’t eaten that entire day because he didn’t want to lose a customer. Before I got into the taxi, the customer who got down was a 20-year-old catering student, who got to know that he hadn’t eaten. The youngster added a stop at KFC en route his destination and bought the driver a burger to munch on. The driver was so moved by the kindness of the stranger and couldn’t stop raving about it once I got into the cab.

I was amazed by the kindness of the young 20-year-old who bought a burger for the hungry driver to munch on. I was amazed by the hunger of this student-turned-taxi driver to make some money instead of being idle at home waiting to clear his exams, while I have seen many guys of his age/situation just chilling at home.
