In a surprise move, the Congress party has decided to back its rebel candidate Malreddy Ranga Reddy from Ibrahimpatnam Assembly constituency in Ranga Reddy district.
TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy in a statement gave a call to the party rank and file to back Mr. Malreddy Ranga Reddy’s candidature. Mr. Malreddy Ranga Reddy, who was a strong contender for the Ibrahimpatnam seat, revolted against the party decision to allot the seat to Telugu Desam Party as part of the poll alliance under the Congress led People’s Front. He filed his nomination papers as Bahujan Samajwadi Party candidate.
The TDP had fielded Sama Ranga Reddy from the constituency although he has pinned hopes on L.B.Nagar seat which went to Congress leader D. Sudhir Reddy.
