3 car lifters arrested, 4 vehicles recovered
Dec 8, 2018, 00:43 ISTCoimbatore: The city police arrested three car thieves and seized three cars and an Omni van from them on Friday.
The arrested were identified as S Maduraiveeran of Karuvakkudi in Sivaganga district, A Shankar of Salem and J Nelson of Sowripalayam in Coimbatore city. Police had formed a special team after several cars were stolen from Peelamedu limits in the last few months. “The team was conducting vehicle check at Thottipalayam Pirivu on Avinashi Road and tried to stop a car. But the driver did not stop the vehicle. A police team chased the car and arrested the three occupants. Investigations revealed that the car was stolen from Udayampalayam on November 16,” a police officer said.TNN
