World carbon emissions increased by 2.7 percent from 2017 to 2018 (source - Global Carbon Project). The world is spewing 40.9 billion tons (37.1 billion metric tons) of carbon dioxide a year. The global increase of greenhouse gases in seven years was revealed at the COP24 UN climate conference in Poland. 200 countries came together to work out how to meet the targets laid out in the 2015 Paris agreement.
