Record books with information on flash checking and safety inspections by Health and Food Safety squads have been made mandatory for hotels and restaurants in the district.
District Collector Seeram Sambasiva Rao issued instructions in this regard at a district-level review meeting of the Food Safety Advisory Committee here on Thursday.
Officials said that all hotels and restaurants would be inspected within three months by Food Safety and Health squads to assess their service standards and hygiene.
Details of inspections should be clearly marked in the record books for future reference, they added.
Moreover, the Revenue Divisional Magistrate will examine the record books in case of serious violations. A meeting of hotel and restaurant owners will be convened at the collectorate soon to explain the latest rules.
