Patanjali Food and Herbal Park Pvt Ltd will set up its mega food park in an extent of 172.84 acres at Chinnaraopalli village of Kothavalasa mandal in Vizianagaram district.
The project is estimated to cost ₹634 crore and provide employment opportunity to approximately 33,400 people.
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who is the promoter of Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Thursday to discuss about the proposed food park.
Crops such as barley, rice, sesame, maize, jowar, pomegranate, mango, chilli, onion, ginger, peas, potato, turmeric, pulses, black and red gram and papaya would be processed in the proposed unit.
Core processing facilities such as IQF freezer for fruits and vegetables, aseptic filling and pulping line, pre cooling and ripening chambers, cold storage with blast freezer, drying, grinding, grading, and packing for spices and grains, and dry warehouse will be available.
The anchor would be juice extraction unit with a capacity of 1,500 tonnes per day proposed with a total investment of ₹45.20 crore.
Juice, biscuit, noodles, frozen vegetables and spices’ processing units are likely to be set up to benefit the farmers of the region in a big way.
The company has chosen A.P. to tap its rich agriculture base.
Acting quickly on the company’s proposal, the State government had allotted land to it last year.
