The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Wednesday issued a notice to the police following reports of a 40-year-old woman found dead in a semi-naked condition in Samaypur Badli.
DCW said the family of the woman, who was found near the tracks in Rohini on Monday morning, has alleged that she was gang-raped.
“The DCW has sent a notice to Delhi Police and has sought information, such as a copy of the first information report and the post-mortem report of the deceased. The commission has also sought information on whether the culprits have been arrested,” the DCW said in a statement.
The police has been asked to respond to the queries by December 10.
“Reports said the body was found in the bushes near the Samaypur Badli underpass. The woman’s family said she was missing since Sunday. DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal met the family members and visited the spot,” the women’s commission said.
