2 bookies nabbed
TNN | Dec 7, 2018, 04:59 ISTMangaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) on Thursday arrested two bookies involved in betting during the first day of the first Australia vs India test match. The accused are Alwyn Monteiro, 23, a resident of Permannooru and Kishore D’Souza, 23, from Kotekar in the city’s outskirts. They were following the match at a house in Chembugudde under Ullal police station limits.
Based on information from credible sources that bets were being placed, the police raided the house and recovered Rs 2.06 lakh collected from gamblers, seven mobile phones, a tablet, two laptops and books used to register the bets. The key accused, Vishwas, is absconding.
