Members of the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Wednesday observed former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's second death anniversary by garlanding her portrait and serving food to the needy at various places in the district.
In the city, AIADMK workers took out a rally from the party’s office on Huzur Road to her statue at Balasundaram Road-Avinashi Road junction and garlanded her statue there. At the party office, Idhaya Deivam Maaligai, they paid floral tributes to her portrait. Members of the Legislative Assembly V.C. Aarukutty, former minister P.V. Damodaran, and senior leaders participated.
In Periyanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore North MLA and party's urban district Secretary P.R.G. Arunkumar paid floral tributes. Later, he inaugurated an event to serve food to the needy.
