Valuables worth Rs 3L stolen from bungalow in Tandalja
TNN | Dec 7, 2018, 04:03 ISTVadodara: Burglars decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 3.2 lakh from the house of a businessman in Tandalja when he was away with his family at his native place in West Bengal.
Complainant Habibul Khan registered the complaint at JP Road police station on Thursday even as the burglary had happened on October 28.
Khan, who owns a plastic pipe manufacturing unit in Ranoli GIDC, told police that got a call on October 29 from the president of his residential society to inform about the break-in. Khan had asked his neighbour to inform the police so that preliminary investigation can be done even if he registers the complaint later.
Khan approached police on Thursday morning after he returned to city on Wednesday. The burglars had stolen gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2.6 lakh and Rs 60,000 cash from a safe kept in his bedroom. “We had told the complainant that he can register the complaint whenever he returns because we had conducted our primary investigation when their neighbour had called us,” said a police official.
