Model Residential School (MRS), Kattela, with 156 points, became the overall champions of the sixth edition of Sargotsavam, the State arts festival of students of model residential schools and pre-matric hostels, that concluded here on Wednesday.
The ITDP, Attappady, team and that from Government MRHSS, Paravanadukkam, Kasaragod, with 140 points, shared the runners-up trophy. MRS, Ettumanur, was in third position with 135 points.
CM presents trophies
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presented the trophies to the winners. Sujatha Subran (20 points) of MRS, Chalakudy, was adjudged the Kalathilakam in the senior category. Anand P. (17 points) of Kulathupuzha MRS was the Kalapratibha.
In the junior category, Elizabeth Antony (16 points) of Kaniyambatta MRS was the Kalathilakam, and Manikanthan (13 points) of Nalloornadu MRS was selected Kalapratibha.
Ajeesh P. of Rajiv Gandhi Government MRHSS, Noolpuzha, was selected the best actor and Ayana of Government MRHSS, Paravanadukkam, Kasaragod, the best actress.
In the mono-act event, Elizebeth Antony secured the first prize in the junior category. Gopika Gopal of Ambedkar Vidyaniketan, Njaraneeli, won in the senior section.
The team led by Mini B. of Rajiv Gandhi Government MRHSS, Noolpuzha, won the group dance event in the girls category, while in the boys category, the team led by Manu M.K. of ITDP, Attappady, was first.
Mr. Vijayan said the festival will he held in a more grand manner in future.
