Cape Town – Jake Gyllenhaal is finally starring in a superhero movie – but he’s not the hero.
The actor officially joined Instagram on Wednesday and revealed he will be starring in the Spider-Man sequel.
Jake confirmed in a video that he will be playing the classic Marvel villain Mysterio in the upcoming movie Spider-Man Far From Home.
In the clip Jake is reading a comic book title titled, The Return of the Man Called Mysterio after discovering something while reading he says: “Woah, what the f…”
He captioned the video: “I just realised I’m not playing Spider-Man.”

The film see Tom Holland reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. This time around Peter and his friends go on a trip to Europe where he has to save his friends from Mysterio aka Quentin Beck.
