The dowe: a fire in the north heights neighborhood in joplin sends one person to the hospital.

The fire broke out just before seven this evening at this home at three-oh-one south pearl avenue.

When officials arrived they found heavy flames coming from the back of the home.

That injured person - was transported by e-m-s to a local hospital with burns to the hands and face.

Firefighters on scene say they don't know the extent of the injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
