Roberta Byron-Lockwood, Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association President and CEO opined that Sullivan County is the fastest-developing tourism destination in New York. It is attracting from investors and travelers around the globe.
Sullivan County has a lot going for itself from Resorts World Catskills casino, the YO1 Luxury Nature Cure wellness resort, to the opening of the Kartrite Hotel & Indoor Waterpark in early 2019 or The Chatwal Lodge, a luxury hotel inside The Chapin Estate, which just broke ground.
The 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Art Festival is being celebrated throughout the county. About 4,000,000 people visited the Sullivan Catskills this year and the number is expected to double in 2019.
These projects boost local economy and let the county stay ahead of the curve.
In November, Lonely Planet named the Catskills the second-best region to visit in the world as part of its annual Best in Travel guide for 2019. The Catskills was the only region in the United States on the list.
Catskills also appeared on Fodor’s Travel’s “Go to Places” in 2019.
