The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration on Wednesday announced that the stringent National Security Act (NSA) will be invoked persons arrested in connection with call centre fraud in India and abroad.
‘Threat to society’
Announcing this, the Noida District Magistrate said the Act will also be invoked against Sunder Bhati gang member Anil Bhati as his “release is a threat to society”.
Anil is the mastermind in the triple murder of BJP leader Shiv Kumar Yadav and his two bodyguards in November 2017.
The Shamli police had arrested Anil and his uncle Sahdev Bhati in connection with the murders in May. They are lodged at Maharajganj jail and had recently applied for bail.
Besides this, property belonging to eight alleged gangsters including Anil Dujana, Latoori Singh and Pratap Bhati has also been attached under NSA.
Sharpshooters
The police said Anil was the mastermind behind the murders of the BJP leader, his driver and a gunner. Anil had assigned the task to three sharpshooters from the gang — Naresh Tewatiya, Aniruddh Bharadwaj and Amar Fauji. The alleged shooters fired indiscriminately at the three men around 3 p.m. on November 15, 2017, in Greater Noida’s Bisrakh. The BJP leader was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, while the others died during treatment.
