Priyanka Chopra’s white wedding gown was fit for royalty

Given that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were both first seen together wearing Ralph Lauren, it comes as no surprise that the bride opted for the American designer for her white wedding too. The designer is said to have worked very closely with the bride for her special look—and designed looks for the wedding party too. “They’re so much a part of our love story for obvious reasons,” Chopra revealed to People magazine recently. “For the Western wedding, we had been talking to a bunch of incredible designers, but ultimately when Ralph Lauren approached us, I learned that Ralph has only designed three wedding dresses in 50 years—one for his daughter, his daughter in law, and his niece. I was blown away.”

“When we went in for the sketch presentation, they created exactly what I envisioned for myself on my wedding day… and I said, ‘Yes’ to the dress,” says Chopra. The hand-beaded, hand-embroidered look, which brought together floral and scroll motifs, scalloped sleeves and delicate tulle appliqués, took a whopping 1,826 hours to complete, and was worn on top of a dress embellished with 2,380,000 mother of pearl sequins. The bride wore her dreamy gown, featuring a 75-foot train, with Jimmy Choo shoes.
