NOIDA: Residents of various sectors in Noida are grappling with issues of monkey menace and stray cattle.
Noida RWA federation while blaming officials of inaction despite repeated pleas and earlier incidents of dog/monkey bites, has urged Noida Authority, GNIDA and district administration to address the issue with urgency.
Following TOI report on monkey menace in Greater Noida, voices are now raised from Noida on the problem. Residents from Noida demand concrete action from authority on not just the increasing monkey menace in residential sectors (such as 75, 76, 77, 71, 20, 19, 8 etc.) but also on stray dogs and cattle roaming freely in residential sectors such as 6, 11, 12, Nithari road, 62, 63, 122 and more. “We have been raising stray dog and cattle issues in Noida’s residential sectors since long. But of late the monkey menace has also compounded the problem as they are found roaming in not only high rise apartment buildings but also sectors with plotted houses such as 19, 20, 30, 31, 35 etc. We do not want any lip service from the authorities now. Instead, we demand some concrete action from Noida Authority, GNIDA and district administration,” said N P Singh, president Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations.
“Just like in Greater Noida, number of monkeys have multiplied here. Since these are new sectors, problem to address the issue remains unattended as we are still grappling with basic infrastructure issues of road and commuting,” said Devender Kumar, resident of sector 76.
