PUNE: Shaikh brothers Sajid and Wajid scored a goal each in the tie-breaker to steer Khadki Blues FC to 4-3 win over Blue Stag FC after the two teams were tied goalless in the regulation time in the quarterfinal match of the Division II/III in the Guru Teg Bahadur Football tournament at the College of Engineering Ground here on Monday.

As the match was forced into tie-breaker, Andrew Swami, Vishal Waghmare Sajid and Wajid Shaikh scored for Khadki Blues, while Ajeet Jadhav, Ankush Kumar and Rohan Akhade struck for Blue Stag.

Also making it to the semifinals was Navmaharashtra FC, who defeated Strikers’ FC 3-1, also through tie-breaker; and FINIQ GOG FC defeated NYFA 4-1 in regulation time.

Bhunesh Pillay opened the scoring in the 15th minute on a pass from Prakash Thapa before Adarsh Konleu made it 2-0 in the 24th minute of the match.

Bhunesh struck again in the 37th minute when Prakash Thorat set him up before he himself put his name of the scoring chart when he scored off Shrikant Molangiri’s 49th minute pass.
