Lifecycle's SAFEthread family of drums bring a much-needed modern redesign to the plastic drums being used globally

Lifecycle Biotechnologies, a leading life science tools and services supplier, has announced the much-anticipated launch of their 100-liter (26 gallon) SAFEthread Drum. The 100-liter SAFEthread Drum follows the launch of Lifecycle’s innovative 200-liter SAFEthread Drum in 2017, which brought a much-needed modern redesign to the plastic drums being used globally. Manufactured at Lifecycle’s VI Plastics facility in San Antonio, Texas, the new 100-liter drum will be used internally for shipments of aqueous custom and semi-custom reagents and chemicals from Lifecycle’s Chata Biosystems facility and will also be available for external sales to various manufacturing and supply chain industries.
“Following the success of our 200-liter SAFEthread Drum, combined with decades of internal experience and customer feedback have led us to this much-anticipated launch of the 100-liter version,” said Aaron Schieving, Director of Sales and Marketing for Lifecycle Biotechnologies. “Like the larger version the 100-liter SAFEthread Drums are manufactured using high quality HDPE plastic under our ISO9001:2015 certified Quality Management System.”
The SAFEthread Drums are a simplified two-piece container of drum and lid eliminating the metal ring which caused disruption during transit. No longer having the potential of cutting or tearing gloves upon opening, the SAFEthread Drum is more secure and easier to manage.
