Chelsea's Spanish international defender Cesar Azpilicueta has signed a new four-year contract which will keep him at the club until 2022.
Chelsea confirmed the news on their official website, assuring that the former Osasuna, Malaga and Olympique Marseilles defender is in south-west London.
The 29-year-old, who has 298 first team appearances for Chelsea, has been vital this campaign with new coach Maurizio Sarri making him on-field captain in many Premier League games.
"I am really happy to extend my stay here at Chelsea. Since I came, I felt the joy and responsibility to play for this club, these fans, and every time I go on the pitch I try to do my best."
