Shri Rokdobanath team reaches semis

PUNE: Shri Rokdobanath Vidyalay, Bhandgaon scripted history-as they reached the semi-finals of the girls Kabaddi event at the Sakal presents Mapro Schoolympics here on Monday. They defeated Military Farm High School, Khadki by the margin of 40-12 to make it to the last four. 

The Bhandgaon school was joined in the semi-finals by Vijaymala Kadam Kanya Prashala, Erandwane, Pimpri Chinchwad Mahapalikeche Madhyamik Vidyalay, Thergaon and Khashaba Jadhav Kridaniketan.

In the other semi-finals too, the victors registered resounding wins to warm up for the semi-final clashes in style. The most noteworthy result saw Pimpri Chinchwad Mahapalikeche Madhyamik Vidyalay, Thergaon concede just two points to Mount Carmel Convent High School, Lullanagar, with the scoreboard showing 33-2 result. 

The only match in the boys section saw PCMC Krida Prabodhini beat Khashaba Jadhav Kridaniketan 29-9 in the league stage. Prabodhini excelled in both raids and defence to keep their momentum against their opponents.
