A 4-year-old girl was Tuesday killed when the vehicle in which she was going to school along with other children met with an accident on Gondia-Road in the district's Gangazari area, police said.

The incident happened at around 9:30am and the vehicle, on its way to of Intelligence in Ekodi, overturned after hitting the tree, an said.

"Neytatri was in the front seat and suffered severe head injuries. She was rushed to Hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. She was a resident of Mundipaar village," the said.

Local residents pulled out the other children who were discharged after being administered first aid at a nearby hospital, he added.

"The vehicle did not have RTO permission to ferry schoolchildren. A case under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act has been registered against Rakesh Gyaniram Dakhne (19)," said of station.
