Bhutan Tourism Council’s report revealed that the international tourists arrival in 2017 generated revenue earnings of 79 million U.S. dollars. This was the highest since 2012.
A total of 254,704 tourists visited Bhutan in 2017, this was an increase of 21.5 percent than 2016. There was an increase in international tourists’ arrival by 13.8 percent as compared to 2016. There was a 25 percent increase in arrivals from regional market that included India and Bangladesh.
Bhutan is an attractive destination and had bagged the destination’s earth award at the International Tourismus-Borse Berlin, Germany.
United States, Britain, Germany, China, Japan, Singapore and Thailand continue to be Bhutan’s consistent market sources for the international segment.
Tshechus is a religious festival which is among the highest attractions of Bhutan, according to the report.
