UP Board exams 2019: Exam centres yet to be finalised

| Dec 4, 2018, 13:38 IST
Around 45% districts from across the state have failed to finalise the examination centres for class X and XII exam of Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UPSEB) even after end of deadline, as officials entrusted with the task in the districts were busy in conduct of UP Teachers Eligibility Test-2018 (UP-TET).

The districts were scheduled to forward the centre lists to UPSEB headquarters by November 20, after which the latter was to release the final list after scrutinising it on November 30. However, officials claim that the delay would not hamper the exams of both high school and intermediate scheduled to start simultaneously from February 7. Secretary, UPSEB, Neena Srivastava said, "The district inspectors of schools (DIoS) were roped in to hold UP-TET-2018 exams conducted by the Examination Regulatory Authority, due to which they could not complete the procedure of finalising the list at district level, delaying the overall process." She said, "We have expedited the process and are expected to complete it within a week by November 10. As far as exam is concerned, it will take place in given schedule."
