600 girls get LPF scholarships

PUNE: Lila Poonawala Foundation (LPF) has awarded 600 girls, studying in institutes in Pune district, its annual scholarships. The girls studying in post-graduation, science, first-year engineering, nursing, direct second year engineering and pharmacy were given the scholarship to complete their studies.

Padmashree Lila Poonawala, who these girls fondly call ‘Mom’, spoke about how girls are not just great home-makers but also great professionals, who have the capacity to not only multitask but also handle all the responsibilities with grit. She made a request to parents to permit and support the girls to realise their dreams and live the life they choose.

Minoo Dastur, President and CEO, Nihilent Ltd, Rashmi Dave, recipient LPF PG scholarship in 1998 and Technical Specialist, Persistent Systems Ltd, Vikrant Gandhe, CS and Head, Corporate Sustainability, TATA Technologies Vrushali Gaud, recipient LPF PG scholarship in 2000 and India Advisor, International Integrated Reporting Council were present at the two functions organised to award the scholarships.
