FALL RIVER - A sharp eye and a properly patriotic sense of duty have resulted in a bit of good news this morning, right on I-195.

Massachusetts State Police Trooper Luke Bonin was traveling on the interstate in Fall River, when "he noticed this Old Glory in a pile of debris against a jersey barrier on the left shoulder," according a Facebook post from the state police.

"Trooper Bonin went back, and ran across three lanes of traffic to save her," the release states.

"To paraphrase the late Johnny Cash, 'It was a ragged old flag, but I made sure to fold her up right,'" Bonin said.

"Thank you Trooper Bonin!" the state police's post read.

And thank you from the folks of Fall River, as well.
