CRPF goes out of way to help Kashmiri girl

Setting an example worth emulating for all, as many as 20 (CRPF) personnel went beyond their regular duties to help out a girl, which also befits Narendra Modi's call for 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign.

They collected funds among themselves, purchased a sewing machine for the girl and have also decided to bear all expenses her younger sister's education. The help poured in for when she approached the CRPF for help for her sister's education, which moved the CRPF personnel to take the initiative of purchasing a sewing machine for her from their own contributions.

"All these personnel are part of the CRPF's Madadgaar team, a 24x7 helpline for Kashmiris residing within and outside J&K. This unit has been proactive in providing assistance of various kinds to the needy and poor since June 16, 2017, and has received more than three lakh calls for help from Kashmiris in the past one and a half years," the CRPF said in a statement.
